Vera Molnár is a Hungarian artist known for her pioneering work in computer and generative art. She started her artistic career with traditional mediums, exploring geometric abstraction. In the 1960s, she began using computers as an artistic tool, becoming one of the first artists to do so. She created algorithms to generate visual compositions, examining the intersection of creativity and mathematical precision. This innovative approach enabled her to create intricate abstract works that explore patterns, shapes, and repetition in ways not possible by hand. Throughout her extensive career, Molnár has exhibited globally, including at the ICA London and The Museum of Modern Art, and has been celebrated for her groundbreaking contributions to digital art. In 2022, her work was featured in the main exhibition for the 59th Venice Biennale, “The Milk of Dreams.”
