István Nádler is a prominent figure in the Hungarian neo-avant-garde movement and hard-edge painting. He was a member of the Iparterv and Budapesti Műhely groups and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts. Following his graduation, he was awarded a scholarship which enabled him to exhibit his work abroad and participate in various artistic workshops. Nádler is a member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and has received numerous awards for his contributions to the field of art. In 2006, he helped establish the Open Structures Art Society during his time as a visiting professor at the University of California.
